Oconomowoc podiatrist named Scholl College alumnus of the year

Dr. Jack Hutter, a longtime podiatric physician in Oconomowoc and the greater Milwaukee area, was recently honored as the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine Alumnus of the Year.  Read the press release here.

Jack Hutter, DPM, named the 2014 Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine Alumnus of the Year, is pictured with Scholl College Dean Nancy Parsley and David Kibrit, DPM, assistant professor in the college's department of podiatric surgery and applied biomechanics, who nominated Hutter for the award.

 

WPMA Member Recognized in the Best of Madison: 2014-15 Top Doctors 

Madison Magazine publishes a biennial guide revealing the Madison area’s best physicians—as chosen by their peers in the local medical community.  While the cirteria applied certainly is subjective, it is nice to see the podiatry profession recognized as a specialty and for one of our WPMA member's expertise noted.  Congratulations, Dr. Finnell!

New Doctors Site Rates For Experience, Quality
The first comprehensive physician rating and comparison database launches Monday in time for open enrollment on federal and state health exchanges, as well as for many employer-provided plans. The new version of the website Healthgrades.com uses about 500 million claims from federal and private sources and patient reviews to rate and rank doctors based on their experience, complication rates at the hospitals where they practice and patient satisfaction

NPR: Medicare Poised To Cover CT Scans To Screen For Lung Cancer
The evidence has been piling up that properly done CT scans can help doctors find tiny lung tumors in longtime smokers while the cancer can still be treated effectively. Now Medicare is proposing to pay for annual scans for beneficiaries at a high risk for lung cancer. To qualify, patients would have to first meet with a doctor to talk through the pros and cons of scans, which involve a low-dose of radiation
